Get ready for some serious girl power posts swirling your newsfeed, because today is all about celebrating remarkable ladies around the globe. Yes, it's International Women's Day!

Each year, this important campaign is celebrated worldwide in honor of women and their contribution to society in all sectors, from the boardroom to the classroom. It's a celebration that hopes to spark change and secure equality, justice and women's rights.

This year, the official campaign theme is #BalanceforBetter which is a call-to-action for women and men to stand in unison for gender balance. Make sure you throw on something purple (or if you're already at work and missed it, order a purple smoothie for lunch), as this is the official color of the day!

In honor of women all around the world we wanted to share some of the incredible women that inspire us. This list serves as evidence that as women, we can be who we want, work where we want and be proud of it!

SARA BLAKELY

This self-made billionaire makes us want to do it all! Not only is she the most fun person to follow on Instagram (check out her #Mondaymugshot posts) but the creator and founder of Spanx is the definition of a super momtrepreneur. Her collection of shape wear and hosiery has taken over the world and her brand encourages women to love the skin they’re in…with a little help from some amazing underpants ;)

KELSEY WELLS

This gorgeous personal trainer and mom has one mission; to make women feel unstoppable! Kelsey inspires us as she is completely relatable. After a life-changing transformation after having her son, Kelsey transformed her lifestyle through a healthy fitness and eating plan. New mommies and women who are motivated to tone and sculpt turn to this lady and her butt-kicking workout programmes, PWR Post-Pregnancy and PWR (Power) to whip them where it counts!

OPRAH WINFREY

Of course, the Queen of media makes our list! Not only is Oprah a true supporter of women, but she is equally supported and adored by women. This powerhouse is relatable, authentic and bold in everything she does, which is quite a lot if you count talk shows, book deals, acting gigs and tons more. This philanthropist uses her power for good, and to be honest, watching her give back makes us want to be kinder, wiser and better.

Serena makes our list as a positive, and very important role model. Over the course of her golden career, this Grand Slam winner has inspired young and aspiring sport stars to reach for their dreams, and fans across the world to stand up for what they believe in. Not only is this mommy a dominant force in tennis, but she believes that change for women and men alike, is important. The Serena Williams Foundation promotes equality through gender, race, education and anything that keeps others from living their best life.
