At fitphyt, we recognise our responsibility to be conscientious in our manufacturing processes. We are committed to continually improving in every aspect, which includes making decisions grounded in sustainability and ethical considerations.
From the inception of our business, we have implemented the following practices to ensure we maintain the right path in ethical manufacturing:
Every fitphyt collection has been manufactured in a factory that our founders have personally visited. Having been based out of Hong Kong for years, they “practically lived” at the factories during their time in Asia to ensure they know the teams on the ground working on fitphyt garments. Every supply partner is third-party audited and externally assessed for quality assurance by Intertek. This means the staff, physical locations, work environment, products, and all industry-standard certificates are scrutinised for approval by external companies to ensure they meet appropriate, fair conditions. Each fabric used is externally tested in a laboratory, adhering to AATCC standards, to ensure its colour and performance endure, fostering slower fashion over fast fashion.
FAST VERSUS SLOW FASHION
We offer our customers a more sustainable activewear option – high-quality pieces that last for years. Our items are meticulously designed and constructed with superior materials to ensure our customers enjoy extended wear.
fitphyt gear will not break or fade. By crafting long-lasting pieces, we aim to reduce the consumption and waste associated with cheap, poorly made gear.
To achieve this, we rigorously test the performance of our fabrics and workmanship in an external laboratory, TÜV SÜD, headquartered in Germany, using AATCC standards to ensure fitphyt garments endure for many years.
After two years of Research & Development, we are excited to announce that we plan to release our first recycled polyester collection in 2024, made from recycled plastic bottles, with performance identical to our current range of products.
SEA FREIGHT
We have initiated the use of Sea Freight for shipping the majority of our bulk garments to reduce our carbon emissions. Currently, Sea Freight is utilised to ship 97% of our products. We aim to continue increasing this percentage in the coming years with the objective of reaching 100%.
PACKAGING
We are incredibly proud to have reached a point where 100% of fitphyt products are now shipped in R3 Pak biodegradable composting packaging, which completely breaks down after approximately 60 days.
All fitphyt products are also packaged in high-quality, reusable zipper poly bags, which are frequently repurposed by our customers as travel bags for items such as make-up or hair ties.
